FAQ'S

Q. Are your measurements insured & how accurate are they?

A) Yes, we carry $2,000,000 in Error & Omissions insurance. All measurements are RECA RMS compliant. Floor plan dimensions and square footage accuracy depends on many factors, such as how large a floor plan is or the number of interior walls. You can feel confident in your choice to use Square Feet Photography because of the iGuide laser camera measurements system we use. Their typical measurement uncertainty, in distance measurement on a floor plan, is 0.5% or better and the corresponding uncertainty in square footage is close to 1% or better. Alberta RMS standards & BOMA stipulate maximum square footage errors of 2% and Square Feet Photography, using iGuide easily meets & exceeds these requirements.

Q. Do your photographers have access to realtor lockboxes?

A) No.

Q. How long does an appointment take?
  • Photography appointments normally require 45-60 minutes.
  • Measurements only shoots take 45-60 minutes.
  • And, combined photography / measurement shoots last approximately 90 minutes.
  • Matterport 3D showcases take approximately 30-45 mins per floor.

Q. What is your turnaround time?

A) Measurements & images will be returned by the end of the next business day. Any shoots done on a weekend will be returned on Monday, unless it's a statutory holiday.

Q. Will you declutter/stage the property before the shoot?

A)  No. Our team of photographers expect the property to be ready for them to shoot when they arrive. We require Realtors or homeowners to arrive early to remove unwanted items or download our staging checklist to help prepare the property.

Q. What cities do you cover?

A) Square Feet Photography & Floor Plans operates throughout the Greater Edmonton area, including: Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Fort Saskatchewan, Beaumont, & Leduc. Please click here for shoot rates outside of these areas.

Q. Do your photographers use Flash or HDR?

A) We can shoot in both styles. We prefer to use flash as shooting properties using HDR requires more post-production editing. This saving in time allows us to offer clients a more cost effective service.

Q. What are your payment terms?

A) Once a shoot is completed we will send you an invoice via email. The invoice must be paid within 15 days or a 5% late fee will be added. The online invoice has a ‘pay now’ option. We also accept bank e-transfers, PayPal, or cheques. We do require you have a credit card saved on our secure system to guarantee all future bookings.

Q. Who owns the images?

A) According to Canadian copyright law, the creator (photographer) of the images owns the rights to the images. This is non-transferrable. We allow the client to use the images for multiple uses for up to a year. The images cannot be transferred to another realtor to use.

Q. What industries do you work in? Who are your clients?

A) Any industry needing quality media to showcase their property or space. Our main clients are Realtors, homebuilders,  architects, interior designers, property developers / managers, homeowners, and retail or commercial businesses.
