Clicking high-resolution images can create the right impact if you are planning to sell your home. So to showcase the property in the most appealing way possible and to enhance its value, it’s best to hire a professional photography company.

At Square Feet Photography & Floor Plans, our job is to wow your buyers by producing captivating shots. So to help you prepare the property, and make sure every area is ready to be photographed, follow our suggestions.

1. General Prep and Cleaning
Declutter and remove any personal or family items and store any unnecessary items in the garage or storage. Also, make the place look spotless by washing windows, mirrors, floors, besides vacuuming the carpets.

2. Exterior
If it’s winter, make sure to shovel the driveway and park the vehicles somewhere else. Also remove kid’s toys or clutter from the lawn, porch, and balcony, before organizing the patio furniture. Don’t forget to mow the grass if it’s summer.

3. Kitchen
Make sure you clear countertops of any appliances such as toasters and mixers. Next, get to work on emptying the sink and putting away the dishes. Then throw out the garbage and remove bins from sight. Finally, remove all artwork and magnets from the fridge and wipe fingerprints from stainless steel appliances.

4. Bathrooms
Start by thoroughly cleaning the mirror, tub, sinks, toilet, and surfaces. Pay close attention to detail, by placing the seat lid down, and hanging towels and toilet paper neatly.

5. Bedrooms
Remove any family photos you don’t want in the pictures, put clothing and toys away, and tuck in sheets and blankets neatly.

6. Pets
Hide kitty litter or puppy pee pads and clean fur off the floor and furniture. Also, make sure to keep pets out of shots while the photographer is working.

7. Photographer Visit
On a final note, be ready in advance of the photographer’s arrival as they will not assist with moving furniture, and will not wait for you to stage as you go.
