Meet The Face Behind Square Feet Photography & Floor Plans

I’m Matt Bissett, the proud owner of Square Feet Photography & Floor Plans.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

While growing up in Scotland, I always had a fascination for photography. My passion increased over the years until I finally decided to pursue it as a profession. I completed my BA (Hons) in photography from Edinburgh Napier University and soon got to work on sprucing up my portfolio.

I dabbled in fashion, weddings, and portraiture, before concluding that architectural photography was right for me. I found it invigorating that I could add value to a home, by telling a story through my lens that accentuated the beauty of a property.

After gaining significant experience in my hometown, I upped sticks and moved to Canada, where my career took off. I set up my real estate photography company in 2013 and started to explore bringing homes to life through immersive 3D showcases.

Over the past 9 years, the industry has evolved rapidly. I have stayed relevant by continuously updating my editing skills and adopting drone technology. Strict RMS guidelines have also come into play in Alberta, which I follow.

The advancing trends have challenged me to move out of my comfort zone and exceed client expectations. I always strive to foster positive working relationships, which has allowed me to build a successful business from the ground up.

My success has permitted me to grow and expand. I now have a team of four talented photographers and a hard-working office manager. Through our combined efforts, we have been able to deliver a superior product consistently.

Despite achieving so much in a short time, I listen carefully to others so that I can continuously expand my knowledge of photography and real estate. Learning and maintaining my integrity in each job is essential to me.

I feel privileged to be trusted with people’s homes, which they have invested a lot of money to purchase. I also take pleasure from seeing the different styles and design elements that clients have created in their houses.

When I am not shooting, I enjoy attending Krav Maga classes and swimming. I’m a certified divemaster, so when I’m on holiday, I love exploring underwater. I also support the heart and stroke foundation, as I recently lost my father to a sudden heart attack.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
